Why London

Running has been part of my life for about ten years, but last year I decided to take it seriously. I ran my first 10K, then a half marathon, and then my first full marathon at Chicago — one of the World Marathon Majors. Somewhere along the way, I caught the bug.

I set a goal to run all the World Marathon Majors before I turn 40. London will be the second stop on that journey.

Training for a marathon isn’t just about race day — it’s months of early mornings, long miles, discipline, and showing up when it’s hard. This page is part of that journey.

Why Fuel Matters

As I’ve trained more seriously, I’ve learned just how important nutrition is. Fuel affects everything – energy, recovery, focus, mood, and performance. You simply can’t do hard things on an empty tank.

That realization hit even harder when I started thinking about kids who go to school hungry. Learning, focusing, and growing is hard enough – doing it without enough food – it's almost impossible.

And I’m a dad – I can’t imagine my child facing that, and I don’t want any kid to have to.

Giving Back: Snack Pak 4 Kids

After packing lunches for Snack Pak 4 Kids with my son at our church, I realized I wanted to use this opportunity to give back to our community.

So a portion of the funds raised for this London Marathon journey will be donated to  Snack Pak for Kids, a local organization that provides take-home meals for children who may not have reliable access to food after school or on weekends – fueling kids for learning and living success!
